Who is Minister Stanley Cornell?
Stanley Cornell, widely known as "Shawtyak," was born on July 17, 1975, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Lafaynette and Stanley Cornell Sr. His musical journey began with a group called the Sleepwalkers, which took a tragic turn when member Jeff Henderson was fatally shot at Club 559 in Atlanta. This event marked a pivotal moment in Stanley's life; his exceptional flow, versatility, and slick freestyle skills caught the attention of the music industry. He soon signed a solo deal with Young Jeezy's CTE label, where he spent three impactful years, although he remained connected to the streets during this time.
Following a run-in with the law, Stanley was arrested and served a year in prison. After his release, he signed with Big Cat Records, where he collaborated with notable artists such as Slim Thug, Field Mob, 8Ball & MJG, and David Banner. His talent also led him to tour alongside renowned acts like Jagged Edge, 8Ball & MJG, Carl Thomas, OutKast, and Three 6 Mafia.
As a founding member of the Grady Babies and Project Boys, Stanley played an essential role in the GappStars. In 2015, he transformed his life by dedicating himself to God and enrolled in the Pioneer Network Ministry School in Valley, Alabama. He later founded So Merciful Ministries on November 12, 2017.
